To gather around a fire to tell extraordinary stories, with the sound of the night and the forest as background… this is the kind of mood that Patrick Baud and Damien Maric wanted to recreate… to be shared with friends during summer nights, discovering new stories with wonderment. The Evening is inspired by the American concept, The Moth, created by poet and novelist Georges Dawes Green in 1997. The concept is simple: a stage, an audience, and amazing stories.
Since the creation of The Moth, thousands of stories have been told. The candidates propose a summary of their story, and then come to share it on stage with an audience who doesn’t know the content of the evening. The two essential criterias: it must be a true story, and lived by its narrator. These events have gained great popularity in the United States, and arrived in France under the name “La Veillée” (“The Evening”). By offering people to come and tell their personal stories, The Evening has several goals: sharing unforgettable stories, but also meeting people, discovering their experiences, visions, doubts and dreams. Breaking down the barriers at a time when it is highly necessary.
